Personally I buy "shoot out"(sp?) and use it in all my colored laundry. I works like a charm. I also keep the little sheets after the laundry is done and plan to use them in a little patchwork project later. My sister and mother also send their used sheets to me from France! Good luck,
AnnickAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7903385422860543724.post-25924522144486422032012-03-30T20:00:40.808-04:002012-03-30T20:00:40.808-04:00What is a dye catcher and where do I get one? What is a dye catcher and where do I get one?Mike Pearsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10186055974523028705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7903385422860543724.post-30009653970947939182012-03-29T15:31:30.438-04:002012-03-29T15:31:30.438-04:00I'm fairly sure Elizabeth Hartman recommends n...I'm fairly sure Elizabeth Hartman recommends not washing cuts like layer cakes and charm squares in her book "The Practical guide to patchwork". If I didn't read it in her book, I definitely read it somewhere recently, so apologies if I am misquoting her.

A dye catcher in your wash should sort out any bleeding that might happen!Celtic Thistlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07033484481693226138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7903385422860543724.post-31734990453354128432012-03-29T11:42:48.324-04:002012-03-29T11:42:48.324-04:00Can you believe how much stuff there was in the pa...Can you believe how much stuff there was in the package??? I already washed the quarters and yardage. I decided not to wash the charms. I'm just going to use them and hope for the best. I wash everything on cold usually (and short wash) and try not to leave them sitting in the washer (this is when the bleeding usually occurs), so I will just be extra careful when I wash the finished quilt I use them in :)Mike Pearsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10186055974523028705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7903385422860543724.post-76413945931359488222012-03-28T23:05:49.383-04:002012-03-28T23:05:49.383-04:00You lucky duck!Congratulations!! You could probably soak them in something like a product called Retayne, but what a pain in the ass :O What you save in cutting time, you would lose in soaking and (air)drying out all of those little charms. Hmmmmm, I think I would just opt to use colors(like for sashing) that wouldn't show if the colors bleed. But I really have no idea about washing them. your greens are all close enough in color, I don't think it's really gonna matter.Danih03https://www.blogger.com/profile/06038011201802847978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7903385422860543724.post-65628230297743967322012-03-21T12:09:48.228-04:002012-03-21T12:09:48.228-04:00Wow!
