Baby Elephants in the Room ....

I've been trying to catch up on a few finishes from last year that I never blogged about. I recently did the Peacock quilt post and the Squirrelly quilt post. Now I am posting about a baby quilt that I made for my cousin's first born. He was born last year and he has since been snuggling up in it quite often :)

I was fortunate to be given a huge pile of flannel scrap squares all about 3 to 4 inches in size from the Onlinefabricstore.net. I took those squares and just squared them down to about 3.5 inches where possible and sewed them all together (with a good eye for placement).

Here are a few pictures:

 The pile of scraps.
 Sewing the rows together....
 Adding the elephant border :)
 Long arming it.... (stippling)
I wrote his name in the quilting :)
The back was all owls with a scrap of elephant (ran low on the owls)...
And... Voila! ... Baby quilt :)

Here is a link to the full photo album which is also under My Finishes at the top of my blog.

My next posts will be about the Blue & Orange Scrappy twin quilts and then I will do one about my Oven Mitts that I have been listing in my Etsy store.

Until next time!

Mike.
